Smythson of Bond Street, the luxury British stationery and leather goods brand, puts its stamp on Beverly Hills this month with a store in the Two Rodeo shopping complex.

The store, the second in the U.S., will have a Bespoke Salon, where customers can consult Smythson’s etiquette expert and create personalized invitations and notecards. Smythson already has a following for agendas such as the Fashion Diary, which has travelers’ information about New York, London, Paris and Milan.

This season’s version is encased in a clementine-colored crocodile leather cover ($340). Also on offer, several L.A. exclusives, including the leather-bound Director’s Notebook ($300), Film Notes ($75), California Wine Notes ($75) and L.A. Notes ($140). Intermix Sept 14: The boutique with the buying power of a department store is finally taking root in Los Angeles, just across the street from the Ivy. With 20 stores already in the U.S., Intermix has the ability to stock just a handful of pieces from designer brands, including Missoni, Stella McCartney, Yigal Azrouel and Proenza Schouler, alongside more affordable contemporary collections (many of them Los Angeles-based), such as Miss Davenporte, Jenni Kayne and Vince. What it amounts to is an eclectic selection of the season’s must-have styles. The 5,000-square-foot space is built around a 100-year-old palm tree, creating a kind of urban garden retail setting.
