Toasting Thunderbird Lodge Preservation Society’s Lake Tahoe benefit
The nonprofit Thunderbird Lodge Preservation Society in Lake Tahoe hosts fabulous Winemakers’ Dinners each summer to raise funds for the historic Thunderbird Lodge and yacht. Last year I was thrilled to attend the Sept. 14 dinner, which included a private tour of the estate and its grounds (formerly owned by the millionaire George Whittell Jr.). This year’s dates are July 12, Aug. 9 and Sept. 13. Tickets are $250, with $160 of that a charitable donation.
