France: Seine River cruise will focus on art, artists

Pack your paints and palette for this new theme cruise on AmaWaterways’ 150-passenger AmaLegro. The Art Illumination Cruise, a seven-night voyage on the Seine River, charts a course through Normandy and the settings of some of the world’s cherished artwork.
Stops include the house and garden of artist Claude Monet in Giverny; the seaside village of Honfleur, a favorite of Courbet; Rouen and its Gothic cathedral, painted numerous times by Monet; and Auvers-sur-Oise, a town famous for the Impressionist painters who lived there such as Paul Cézanne, Camille Pissarro and Vincent Van Gogh. As part of the experience, instructors will be on hand to lead complimentary art classes.
Also offered is an optional two-night stay in Paris, with a visit to the Musée d’Orsay and a sightseeing tour.

Price: From $3,599 per person; optional stay in Paris is $600, including hotel accommodations, daily breakfast and guided tours. International airfare is not included.
