World-class musicians will gather in early March on the Hawaiian island of Lanai for three days of free jazz concerts, and specially priced rooms are being offered at the island’s two upscale hotels.

The Lanai Jazz Festival opens a three-day run on Friday, March 7. Now in its fourth year, the event draws big-name performers to the small island just a few miles west of Maui. This year’s lineup includes Grammy Award-winning artist Skip Martin of Dazz Band and Kool & the Gang, Hawaiian guitarist Benny Uyetake, Jazz Hall of Fame musician Bobby Watson and others.

The free concerts will take place at various venues, from Uyetake’s Saturday afternoon show at Mimi’s Spa in Lanai City to several sessions at the Lodge at Koele, one of two Four Seasons resorts on Lanai.

A festival package is available at both properties. The Lodge at Koele has rooms starting at $279 a night while its sister property, the Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay, is priced from $382 a night. Both offers include daily breakfast and VIP seating at Saturday evening’s main event.

Jazz lovers on a budget can consider staying at the Hotel Lanai in quaint Lanai City. Its website lists rates from $149 a night.
