Las Vegas: Foodie Fest to feature more than 30 food trucks

Share

Fans of fast food trucks won’t want to miss the mass gathering in Las Vegas on Oct. 18-20.

The Silverton Casino Hotel, off Interstate 15 at the Blue Diamond Road exit, will host the return of the Las Vegas Foodie Fest. It will feature more than 30 trucks from Las Vegas, Los Angeles and around the country.

The popularity of food trucks has grown in recent years, thanks in part to TV shows such as “The Great Food Truck Race.” Two competitors from that series -- Yorba Linda’s Bacon Mania and L.A.’s Buttermilk Truck -- will be among the vendors dishing up their wares.

West Coast residents with Midwestern roots will likely gather at the White Castle stand, where employees of America’s first hamburger chain -- founded in Kansas in 1921 -- will be serving up their famous square sliders. Fans wanting 10 or fewer burgers will have their own line, as will customers buying 60 or more.

In addition to the food vendors, the festival will feature a beer garden, car show, carnival and eating contests.

Admission is $10, which provides unlimited access all weekend long. There’s no charge for children smaller than 4 feet, 6 inches tall.
