With the opening Tuesday of Hershey’s Chocolate World on the Las Vegas Strip, visitors may feel as though they’ve landed on the Candy Land game board.

Hershey’s Chocolate World plans to distribute 1 million free Kisses when it opens along Las Vegas Boulevard in front of New York-New York Hotel & Casino. You can’t miss it. Just look for the giant Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup -- it’s 18 feet in diameter -- above the entrance.

Once inside, guests can take selfies in front of two good-enough-to-eat versions of New York City icons. A sculpture of the Statue of Liberty was carved from nearly 800 pounds of milk chocolate; a fanciful Empire State Building was erected using 1,800 chocolate bars.

Visitors can create their own, customized candy wrappers, and they also can star in their own Reese’s ad.

All of that aside, Chocolate World is primarily a retail store.

More than 800 types of candy are sold, including such popular brands as Hershey’s, Jolly Rancher, Reese’s and Twizzlers.

One caution: It’s Vegas. It’s hot. Things melt heat. Protective packaging -- insulated bags and ice packs -- will be provided at no charge.

Info: Hershey’s Chocolate World is open 9 a.m.-11 p.m.; (702) 740-6969.

For those who just can’t get enough of a good thing, M&M’s World is right across the Strip. This long-standing, free attraction lets visitors create customized M&M’s.

The store uses a one-of-a-kind printer to include personalized, two-line messages on the hard-shell candies. If they wish, guests can also include one of 14 Vegas-themed icons, including the famous “Welcome” sign. There’s also a choice of 16 colors.

Info: M&M’s World is open 9 a.m.-midnight; (702) 740-2504.
