Kanye West, Lionel Richie and Outkast will be among the musical acts at the Life is Beautiful festival, which will return this fall to Las Vegas with an expanded version of last year’s launch.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday for the 2014 festival, which will be Oct. 24-26, increasing from two days to three. The festival melds art, education, food and music. The 2013 event attracted more than 60,000 people.
Four “culinary villages” will spring up along downtown streets showcasing the talents of several well-known chefs. They include Giada De Laurentiis, Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken, Hubert Keller, Rick Moonen and Jet Tila. Some of the chefs will perform live cooking demonstrations.
Most of the time the four stages will play host to an eclectic mix of more than 70 musical acts, including such acts as Arctic Monkeys and Foo Fighters.
The festival’s eponymous elements will be evident throughout downtown Las Vegas. Local and international artists will create murals and other street art. There will also be less bold displays of fine art.
A Learning is Beautiful companion series will feature lectures on several topics, with the list of lecturers still to be finalized.
General admission tickets range from $199.50 to $249.50, plus fees, for all three days.
