Blown tire forces jet to return to Los Angeles

An American Airlines jet is returning to Los Angeles International Airport after apparently blowing a tire on its left main landing gear during takeoff for Toronto.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor says the Boeing 737 took off from the airport around 11 a.m. Tuesday. The pilot reported the problem upon immediately and asked to return to the airport.
The aircraft is circling around the airport to burn fuel. Emergency vehicles are preparing for an emergency landing.
