Too dumb to fail? A Las Vegas ultra-lounge opening in 2012 will offer guests the chance to shoot machine guns, assault rifles and famous firearms from World War II. Machine Guns Vegas will feature 16 shooting lanes. It will not serve alcohol. . . . . Mendocino County’s inaugural “Festive Fortnight” will showcase lights, galleries and food, Dec. 1-14. Christopher Reynolds won for his “Southern California Close-Ups” package; Mark Boster for his photography in “Yosemite in Four Seasons”; the section overall won the top prize for newspapers with circulations of 350,000 or more. . . .
