Peninsula Beverly Hills’ new perk: Check in early, check out late

Come early, leave late — and it won’t cost you a dime extra.

That’s the word from the swank Peninsula Beverly Hills at 9882 Santa Monica Blvd., which launched a new service it calls “Peninsula Time.” You can check in to a room or suite as early as 8 a.m. and check out as late as 10 p.m. the next day, provided you request the times in advance of your visit. No extra fee required — how refreshing!

Of course, the hotel that rates five diamonds from AAA thrives on being on top of its game. It was voted the No. 1 hotel in Southern California in Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards this year and made Orbitz’s 2012 Best in Stay list too. And 70% of its guests are return customers, a hotel statement says. (Just so you know, room prices start at $495 midweek and $595 on weekends, according to an online check of November prices.)

So what’s the hitch? There isn’t one, except to note the extra room time is based on availability. The only time it might not be is when the hotel is packed during busy times such as awards season, a spokeswoman says.

Other than that, feel free to sleep in and pack late during your next stay.
