Las Vegas: Now 20, Circus Circus park offers discounts on its fun

The family-friendly fun at Adventuredome at Circus Circus will be more affordable than usual as the indoor theme park celebrates its 20th anniversary later this month.

Adventuredome, the 5-acre amusement park at Circus Circus that’s enclosed in a giant dome of pink glass, welcomed its first guests Aug. 23, 1993, in Las Vegas. To mark the occasion, reduced-price admission will be offered Aug. 22-25.

The best pricing will be available Aug. 22, on what is being called “Throwback Thursday.” For one day, visitors will pay 1993 admission prices: $12.95 for “premium” guests 48 inches or taller and $8.95 for “juniors” 33-48 inches tall. (The regular prices for all-day ride passes are $27.95 and $16.95, respectively.)

Free T-shirts and party hats will be provided to the first 50 purchasers. At 11 a.m., a conclave of clowns will lead guests in the singing of “Happy Birthday” while they are gathered around a tower of cupcakes. The baked goodies will then be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Taller “premium” guests will enjoy reduced $20 all-day passes Aug. 23-25. Admission for the little ones, however, will return to the usual $16.95. Throughout the celebration, single ride tickets will remain at their regular prices.

Adventuredome has 25 rides and attractions. Besides the Canyon Blaster, the country’s only indoor double-loop, double-corkscrew roller coaster, the park features 18 holes of miniature golf, a 4-D theater, a 40-foot climbing wall, laser tag and a train ride for kids.

Summer hours are 10 a.m.-midnight daily.
