Summer may seem a long way off, but not if you want to take advantage of an early-season deal on Nantucket Island. The Veranda House hotel offers reduced room rates and free ferry tickets for guests who stay at least two nights on the Massachusetts island.

The deal: The Countdown to Summer 3-2-1 package at the Veranda House (includes free ferry tickets from Hyannis, Mass., to Nantucket Island. The Veranda House is a complex of three buildings decorated in what it calls a retro chic style. Three wraparound verandas (hence the name) face the ocean and offer expansive views of Nantucket Harbor. Guests receive two round-trip tickets for a three-night stay, one round-trip ticket for a two-night stay.

Rooms start at $199 midweek and $249 on weekends at the Veranda House, and $169 midweek and $209 on weekends at the Chapman House, another building in the complex. Stays come with breakfast and a chocolate chip cookie snack in the afternoon.

When: The offer is good for stays from May 27 through June 27.

Tested: I found the deal available for a three-night stay starting June 1 at the weekend rate of $249 a night. I also found the $169 midweek rate available June 9 to June 12. The real savings here are on the FastFerry tickets, which usually cost $69 round-trip per adult.
