Head to ‘Mondays Dark’ to see the famous and help Las Vegas charities
Mark Shunock from “Rock of Ages” created and produces the monthly charity event “Mondays Dark” with a star-studded rotating cast.
Fans of Las Vegas performers are never sure who they might see when they attend “Mondays Dark,” the monthly philanthropic show that showcases talent from Hollywood and Sin City alike.
Now Mark Shunock, who stars in “Rock of Ages” at the Venetian and created “Mondays Dark,” is putting together what he’s dubbing the “philanthropic event of the year” to celebrate the show’s second anniversary on Monday, Dec. 14, at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel.
Shunock hasn’t announced the performers for the event, but previous nights have included singers Clint Holmes, Bubba Knight, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, Earl Turner, Paul Shortino of Quiet Riot, Michael Grimm and more, all performing short sets.
The 90-minute show typically blends entertainment, comedy and singing, all depending on who shows up to perform. Celebrity chefs, athletes and more could all be on the docket.
The night also honors 22 Las Vegas charities. Usually during “Mondays Dark,” Shunock makes one nonprofit the benefactor of ticket sales.
Since the event started in November 2013, it’s raised almost $250,000 for charities.
