UB40 brings the red, red wine to Las Vegas in October

Reporting from Las Vegas — For the first time in eight years, UK reggae and pop ensemble UB40 hits the road on a North American tour that includes a fall stop in Las Vegas. Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue along with their seven-piece band play The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel on Friday, Oct. 16.
Already the group is saying they plan to perform their hits including “Red, Red Wine,” “(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love,” “Kingston Town,” “One In Ten” and “Food For Thought.”
Also expect to hear songs from the band’s latest album “Silhouette” that includes reggae cover versions of classics by The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Chi-Lites and more. The track “Silhouette” comes from the 1957 hit from American doo-wop group The Rays, though UB40 gives it a ’70s reggae feel.
UB40 formed in 1979 and topped the UK singles chart three times, earned multiple Grammy nominations and sold more than 70 million records during their career.
Tickets start at $39.50 and go on sale Friday, March 20.
