Mia Farrow, then a minor, went to the Santa Monica Courthouse to have her 20th Century Fox contract to appear on “Peyton Place” approved by the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
“Peyton Place” premiered on ABC on Sept. 15, 1964, with Farrow portraying Allison MacKenzie. The role launched her career.
In 1966, at the urging of her new husband, Frank Sinatra, Farrow left the show. She went on to appear in 50 movies. “Peyton Place” continued until 1969.
