Apple Inc. General Counsel Donald Rosenberg is leaving for cellphone chip maker Qualcomm Inc. after 10 months in the post. Oracle Corp. General Counsel Daniel Cooperman will replace Rosenberg on Nov. 1, Apple said Friday.

Rosenberg joined Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple in November, when the maker of iPods and Macintosh computers was in the thick of a stock option scandal. His predecessor there, Nancy Heinen, is fighting civil charges that she backdated stock option awards to executives and a grant to Chief Executive Steve Jobs.

Apple shares closed at $153.47 on Friday, down $1.03.
