When Danny Elfman announced last week a Halloween concert at the Hollywood Bowl, tickets for the event sold out in a matter of hours. In response to the demand, the film composer has added a second concert at the Bowl on Nov. 1, organizers announced Wednesday.

The concerts will feature a live orchestral performance to a screening of Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Elfman will perform vocals with an orchestra and chorus led by conductor John Mauceri.

The first concert is scheduled for Oct. 31, with a start time at 8:15 p.m. The Sunday, Nov. 1 concert is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the latter performance will go on sale at noon on Friday.

Producers said that the Bowl will resemble Halloween Town from the 1993 stop-motion animated movie. In addition, there will be an audience costume contest for which Tim Burton-themed costumes are encouraged.

Elfman will sing the role of Jack Skellington, the movie’s “Pumpkin King” hero who hijacks Christmas and kidnaps Santa Claus. (The Oscar-nominated composer provided the original singing voice of Skellington in the movie.)

He will perform live with a cast of singers that has not yet been announced.

In recent years, Elfman has performed at Burton-themed concerts around the world, including performances in downtown L.A. This year, he sang in a Burton-themed concert that was part of the Lincoln Center Festival in New York.
