The coming Carole King musical has found its star: Producers of “Beautiful — The Carole King Musical” announced Monday that Tony nominee Jessie Mueller will play the singer/songwriter.

The show is set to premiere at San Francisco’s SHN Curran Theatre with a four-week run starting Sept. 24.

“Beautiful” and Mueller will then transfer to Broadway, with previews starting Nov. 21 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre and an opening night set for Jan. 12.

The bio-musical about the Brooklyn girl turned chart topper features songs from King’s catalog and a book by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Douglas McGrath (“Emma,” “Bullets Over Broadway”). Marc Bruni will direct.

Mueller made her Broadway debut opposite Harry Connick Jr. in 2011’s short-lived revival of “On a Clear Day You Can See Forever,” for which she earned a Tony nomination.

She most recently starred alongside Matthew Broderick in “Nice Work If You Can Get It.”
