It’s the end of the ballad for Richard Marx and his wife, Cynthia Rhodes.

The “Right Here Waiting” crooner and his wife of 25 years announced their split Friday.

Marx, 50, who’s known for his popular ‘80s and ‘90s love songs, initially broke the news when prompted by Katie Couric during a Friday appearance on “Katie.”

The couple first met in 1983 when Rhodes was starring in “Staying Alive” and Marx was enlisted for the film’s soundtrack, according to the mags. They dated for four years, wed in 1989 and had three children together: Brandon, 23, Lucas, 21, and Jesse, 20.

When asked by Couric how he felt about dating again, the “Hold On to the Nights” singer said he was still adjusting.

“It’s all brand new to me, so I’m just having fun,” the Grammy winner said.
