Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near Borrego Springs, Calif.
A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Tuesday evening three miles from Borrego Springs, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 9:04 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 8.1 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 26 miles from La Quinta, Calif.; 27 miles from San Diego Country Estates; 29 miles from Palm Desert; and 251 miles from Phoenix.
In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
