Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near King City

A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Tuesday morning 17 miles from King City, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 5:49 a.m. PST at a depth of 5 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 24 miles from Greenfield, 25 miles from Coalinga and 31 miles from Soledad.

In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
