Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near Mammoth Lakes

A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Saturday morning 15 miles from West Bishop, Calif., near Mammoth Lakes, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 9:45 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 9.9 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 62 miles from Sanger, 63 miles from Clovis and 63 miles from Reedley, Calif.

In the past 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
