Santa Ana boy shot while riding in car
A 7-year-old Santa Ana boy was shot in the leg Saturday night when a gunman in an SUV fired multiple rounds into a car driven by the boy’s father.
The boy, his father and another family member were looking for a parking spot in the 2600 block of S. Towner Street in Santa Ana about 11:15 p.m. when the SUV pulled up and the gunman began shooting, said Santa Ana police Cmdr. Eric Paulson.
One round penetrated the right rear door of the car and hit the boy’s leg. The father drove the boy to a local hospital, where the injury was determined not to be life-threatening, Paulson said. There were no other injuries in the incident.
No arrests have been made.
