Former Bell Gardens Councilman Mario Beltran, 31, was sentenced Wednesday to four years’ probation after pleading guilty to four misdemeanor charges, including failing to file campaign disclosure forms and failing to deposit cash contributions, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

As part of a plea agreement, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge George G. Lomeli dismissed seven counts of grand theft, one count of perjury and one count of failing to deposit cash.

A condition of Beltran’s probation is that he never seek or hold elected or appointed office again.
