Elite car show Los Angeles Concours d'Elegance to be held Sunday

In only its third year, the Los Angeles Concours d'Elegance has carved out a spot among the region's elite car shows. The charity event is back Sunday, with 350 cars at the Rose Bowl and adjacent Brookside Golf Course.

General admission is $30 at the gate. Children under 12 are admitted free, and there is ample free parking. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 
The show will include cars dating back to 1904, European and American classics from the '20s, '30s and '40s, muscle cars of the '50s and '60s, European sports cars, exotic cars, hot rods and race cars. There will be 17 horseless carriages and two classes of pre- and postwar Cadillacs, including Rita Hayworth's 1941 Cadillac Coupe, a 1931 Cadillac V16 Phaeton and a 1957 Cadillac El Dorado.

In the race-car class there will be midgets, sprint cars, dragsters and more. The show also will offer Corvettes, five classes of Ferraris, a Lamborghini class and the 1937 Talbot Lago from the Nethercutt collection.

The Los Angeles Concours is managed entirely by volunteers and all proceeds go directly to the eight services of Assistance League of Southern California. For show infor- mation, call (323) 469-1973, or check www.laconcours.com.
