Antawn Jamison sprained his right wrist in the Lakers' 103-100 loss to the Washington Wizards on Friday.
With 1:10 left in the third quarter, Jamison's dunk attempt was blocked by Wizards center Kevin Seraphin. Jamison, who scored 11 points in the game, did not return.
X-rays taken on the wrist after the game were negative. Jamison left Staples Center with his wrist in a brace.
A Lakers spokesman said Jamison will have an MRI exam on Saturday.
Jamison has averaged 9.3 points a game for the Lakers on 47.3 % shooting from the field and 35.4% from three-point range.
The Lakers (36-34)have had injury issues all season. The full contingent of players has had a single game together, an opening-night loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant rejoined the team Friday in what was about as close to a full roster as Mike D'Antoni has had as head coach. Jordan Hill remains sidelined with a hip injury.
It would be par for the course if Jamison's wrist becomes an issue over the final weeks of an injury-plagued season.
