The status of Rams running back Tre Mason continues to be muddled in the aftermath of his arrest last month.

A warrant for Mason was issued this week in Florida after he failed to appear Monday for a scheduled court date, according to the Broward County Clerk of Courts website. Bond was set set at $1,500 by a judge, a court representative confirmed.

Mason, 22, was arrested March 5 in Hollywood, Fla., after a traffic stop by police, who used a stun gun to subdue him. The Rams’ third-round draft pick in 2014 was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor reckless driving, possession of marijuana, resisting an officer and failure to register a motor vehicle.

The Rams are scheduled to begin offseason workouts on Monday.

Last month, at the NFL owners meetings in Florida, Coach Jeff Fisher was asked about Mason.

“I can’t really comment on the specifics until we get all the stuff, and we’re working with the league on that,” Fisher said. “I’m expecting Tre to be present for the offseason program.

“I know he was extremely embarrassed as to the incident, but we don’t have the facts yet. We’re still waiting on that. To me, it was a little uncharacteristic of him. And if in fact what was reported is true, then [we’d] be really disappointed in him. But we don’t have the information.”

Mason rushed for 207 yards and a touchdown in 75 carries last season. He also caught 18 passes for 88 yards.
