Smush Parker says Kobe Bryant refused to talk to him
Kobe Bryant has never been shy about his dislike of former Lakers teammate Smush Parker.
And in an appearance Wednesday on the ESPN program “Highly Questionable,” Parker revealed just how strained their relationship was off the court.
“He told me one day at practice -- I tried to talk to him outside of basketball, about football -- and he looked at me in practice and was dead serious and said, ‘You can’t talk to me. You need more accolades under your belt before you come talk to me,’ ” Parker said.
In recent years Bryant has been very vocal about how frustrated he was playing alongside Parker.
“Smush Parker was the worst,” Bryant said in 2012. “He shouldn’t have been in the NBA, but we were too cheap to pay for a point guard. We let him walk on.”
