“Take 100: The Future of Film” A panel discussion featuring the Duplass brothers ( “Cyrus”) and “Observe and Report” director Jody Hill will introduce “Take 100,” a book seeking to encapsulate the film festival experience in print for the first time. Weighing in at 450 pages, the densely illustrated tome showcases the work of 100 up-and-coming directors, each handpicked by 10 established filmmakers. Tom Marioni The influential experimental artist, who founded the Museum of Conceptual Art in San Francisco in 1970, will discuss his lengthy career and present a live performance of his ongoing 1996 composition “Beer Drinking Sonata (for 13 players)” with a number of guest artists, including Cindy Bernard, Evan Holloway and Mateo Tannatt. The Black Keys Guitarist Dan Auerbach and gangly funk drummer Patrick Carney are a duo from Akron, Ohio, whose college-kid jam-band look and impassioned stranglehold on the blues make it clear this is neither retro hipsterism nor the post-punk tinkering of the White Stripes and company.
