In honor of the London 2012 Olympic Games, we decided to conduct an unscientific readers’ poll to select the top roller coaster in the United Kingdom.

Below you’ll find an eclectic collection of 25 top coasters from the bigger and smaller U.K. parks vying for supremacy in the first-ever All-England Roller Coaster Olympics.

The pool of contenders features a mix of steel behemoths, wooden monsters and colorful curiosities from most of England’s better-known theme parks, with several selections from the big three amusement powerhouses: Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

With 167 coasters in the U.K., we clearly couldn’t include every ride from every park in the poll. If we left out your favorite coaster or included a questionable Eddie the Eagle entrant, you can voice your opinions in the comment section below.

Choose your favorite from the competitors in the poll and we’ll crown the gold, silver and bronze coaster medalists at the end of the Olympics.
