Football: No. 6 Mater Dei vs. No. 11 Edison

My colleague Ben Bolch seems to be siding with the masses by picking Mater Dei to win this one, but I think Edison is poised to pull off its first legitimate victory over the Monarchs in nearly seven years tonight.

Of course, a lot of that depends on the play of the Edison offensive line. Those boys need to keep Mater Dei out of the backfield so quarterback Matt Viles and running back Davion Orphey can work their magic.

As always, feel free to send me your comments and questions once the game gets underway. Oh, and here’s something for all those Matt Barkley bashers -- I don’t care if the kid has nine interceptions, he’s still the best QB in the Southland.
