Football: Mayfair linebacker Gavert headed to San Diego State

Mayfair outside linebacker Joshua Gavert wants to be part of the rebuilding process at San Diego State, having committed to the Aztecs earlier this week, according to Rivals.com.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Gavert made a visit to the campus over the weekend and didn’t hesitate to pick the school after receiving a scholarship offer.

‘I like that it’s close to home, it’s a D-I school and it’s a beautiful campus,’ Gavert said. ‘San Diego State was my first choice, and I’m excited about going there’
