George Best, a former soccer star in Britain and Los Angeles who is serving a jail term for driving under the influence of alcohol, will be moved from London’s Pentonville prison to a low-security facility that has a soccer team.
Best’s manager, Bill McMurdo, said that Best will be moved today to Ford Open Prison, near Arundel, in the South England county of Sussex. “I understand Ford has a football team, and that is sure to please George,” McMurdo said.
Best, 38, began serving a three-month jail term Dec. 17 for drunken driving, assaulting a policeman and jumping bail.
