A 40-year-old man was killed in Cherry Valley by a 1-inch-bore cannon that discharged while he was repairing it, Riverside County sheriff’s deputies reported. They said Michael Neil Holt, a cannon hobbyist, was wounded in the chest and was pronounced dead at his home by paramedics.
