Going heavily for linebackers, the Express also chose All-American James Seawright of South Carolina. Del Wilkes, an All-American guard from South Carolina, also was picked by the Express.

Other USC players picked by the Express were defensive backs Tommy Haynes and Darrel Hopper, kicker Steve Jordan, and wide receiver Timmie Ware.

The Memphis Showboats, with territorial rights to UCLA players, selected running back Danny Andrews, quarterback Steve Bono, linebacker Neal Dellocono, tackle Duval Love, and wide receiver Michael Young.
