USD Holds Off Northern Arizona
University of San Diego guard Chris Carr hit four free throws in the final moments Saturday to lead the Toreros to a 54-53 victory over Northern Arizona University at the USD Sports Center.
Carr, who scored 12 points, converted on four of four chances from the free throw line in the last 27 seconds to help the Toreros improve their record to 9-4. The Lumberjacks, from the Big Sky Conference, dropped to 8-5.
USD center Scott Thompson led the team with 14 points.
Forwards Andre Spencer and David Allen led the scoring for the Lumberjacks. Spencer came off the bench to score 14 points and grab 6 rebounds, while Allen scored 13 points, all in the second half.
The Toreros’ next home game is Thursday against Southwest Texas State.
