29 Turnovers, Lack of Rebounding Hurt UCLA Women in 72-57 Loss at Tennessee

The UCLA women’s basketball team, turning the ball over 29 times, lost to Tennessee, 72-57, Sunday at Knoxville, Tenn.
Also, the Bruins, despite have a height advantage, were outrebounded, 39-29, and were able to get off only 48 shots in the game seen by 4,756 fans.
The loss dropped the Bruins to 8-4. The Lady Vols are now 7-5.
Top scorers for Tennessee were starting forward Sheila Collins with 16 points and reserve forward Val Freeman with 12. For UCLA, Jackie Joyner scored 17 and Annette Keur 13.
Tennessee took the lead for the first time, 18-16, with 9:02 remaining in the first half, and steadily pulled away.
