San Diego Roundup : Mission Bay Run Will Feature 2 Races
The 21st annual Mission Bay Marathon will take place Sunday at 7 a.m. with an accompanying 10-kilometer run at 7:15 a.m.
Both races begin and end on East Mission Bay Drive at the foot of Clairemont Drive. The best viewing area is at Fiesta Island.
Approximately 700 runners are expected to participate in each race. The San Diego Sheriffs and Police departments will meet in the Cop’er Bowl football game Saturday at 3 p.m. at San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium.
Proceeds from the game benefit the Boys Club of San Diego. Men and women interested in umpiring high school softball are invited to the North San Diego County Umpires Assn. meeting Monday at 7 p.m. in San Marcos High School’s room 403.
Games are played during the afternoon from February through mid-May. No previous experience is necessary as the association trains its own umpires.
