A crowd of 56,510 contributed to a Santa Anita record in the Pick Six on Monday as only one ticket-holder had all six winners for a payoff of $429,171.20 for $2.

Monday’s wagering pool of $629,848 was added to a one-day carryover of $177,483.94. The winning ticket broke the previous Santa Anita record of $313,929.60 set March 16, 1984, when there were two winning tickets.

The winning number combination in the third-through-eighth races was 2-4-8-12-5-7. Lady Lonestar, No. 12 in the sixth race, paid $62.80 to win.

The payoff was not the largest in Southern California history. That record is $466,157.20, set July 4, 1983, at Hollywood Park.

Fact Finder closed with a rush to win the $107,500 San Gorgonio Handicap by a half-length over Capichi at Santa Anita.

Fact Finder, ridden by Fernando Toro and carrying 118 pounds, covered 1 1/8 miles on the turf course in 1:48 1-5 and paid $18.20, $7.20 and $4. The victory was worth $62,500.

Racing is not usually held at Santa Anita on Mondays but was this week because of the observance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.
