UCLA Sweeps USC to Retain Volleyball Cup

UCLA’s four-time defending national champion men’s volleyball team beat USC in three straight games to win the eighth annual Kilgour Cup in front of 1,377 fans at Pauley Pavilion Wednesday night.

The No. 2 ranked Bruins (6-1) won by scores of 15-9, 15-6, and 16-14 to hand the No. 3 Trojans (2-1) their first loss. It was also UCLA’s fourth consecutive Kilgour Cup victory and 14th straight win over USC.

Senior middle blocker Tim Otterman paced the Bruins with 18 kills and 9 blocks, while All-American Asbjorn Volstad added 16 kills. Senior Bill Yardley led the Trojans with 18 kills.
