Coelco Ltd., a diversified company based in Fountain Valley, said Thursday it has completed its previously announced acquisition of three privately held firms in exchange for about $1.35 million in Coelco common stock and cash.

The three firms brings to eight the number of acquisitions that Coelco has completed since last summer. The expansion is a bid to become a conglomerate with sales of about $35 million during fiscal 1985, said company President David D. Sterns.

The three firms are: Laser Images Inc. of Van Nuys, a manufacturer of krypton and argon lasers and the producer of laser light shows; USA Graphics Inc. of Irvine and Impressive Printing Services Inc. of Fountain Valley.

Sterns said the three companies will add more than $3 million in annual revenues to Coelco, and, more importantly, complement the firm’s other product lines.

Negotiations are still under way to purchase Alsen Steel Producers Inc., a specialty steel maker in San Bernardino, and Consumer Solar Leasing Inc., a Chino supplier of solar energy systems.

Coelco also is involved in the manufacture of specialty chemicals and building components and products for the manufactured housing, recreational vehicle and automotive markets.
