Kupchak Is Out; McAdoo Doubtful

Share

The Lakers, who may have run out of backup centers, play the Trail Blazers tonight at Portland but without Mitch Kupchak and possibly Bob McAdoo.

Kupchak is going to miss at least the next two games because of an injury he received Monday in practice. Kupchak needed 40 stitches to close a cut above his right eye when McAdoo accidentally hit him with an elbow. Precautionary X-rays were negative.

McAdoo, who has missed three games because of a bruised heel, is listed as questionable for tonight’s game. If McAdoo can’t play, then forward Kurt Rambis moves over to become Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s backup.
