Perino’s Restaurant’s landlords have filed suit to collect $45,000 in overdue rent and $500 a day in damages for each day the bill goes unpaid. Harold E. Frank and David Langman said in their Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit that the landmark restaurant on Wilshire Boulevard had paid no rent since November. The financially troubled restaurant filed for reorganization under federal bankruptcy laws last year and closed its 18-month-old, five-restaurant complex in downtown Los Angeles. The Wilshire Boulevard restaurant--used only for banquets and private parties after the downtown complex was launched--was reopened as a full service restaurant three days before Christmas.
