RTD Bus Rider Shot; Gang Link Seen
An Ontario man was shot twice in the stomach Sunday while riding on a Rapid Transit District bus in downtown Los Angeles in what police said was a gang-related shooting.
Investigators said Donnell Hall, 21, was shot as three youths got off the RTD Route 940 bus at 5th and Spring streets. Hall was taken to County-USC Medical Center, where he was reported in fair condition, hospital officials said.
RTD spokesman Jim Smart said the other 45 passengers abroad the Torrance-bound bus were unharmed in the shooting and the unidentified assailants escaped on foot.
