Fire Hits Car Restoration Firm
An early morning fire at a Lincoln Heights car restoration facility today resulted in $735,000 damage, including almost $500,000 in damage to equipment and eight cars that were being refinished inside the garage.
More than 20 Los Angeles city fire companies were called to extinguish the 2:10 a.m. blaze at Pro Prep Racing, 3001 Humboldt St. The fire sent flames shooting through the roof of the metal-clad structure, but caused no damage to two adjoining businesses. Investigators are trying to determine what caused the blaze.
