A 28-year-old El Cajon man was fatally injured when his compact car, which was traveling at high speed, went out of control and struck a traffic signal pole, San Diego police reported. Roy A. Hill was headed west on Friars Road about 7 p.m. Friday when his car veered across three lanes and struck the pole in the center divider strip at Frazee Road. Hill, who was thrown from the car, was dead on arrival at Mercy Hospital.
