Dworsky Cited by State AIA for Excellence

Dan Dworsky, president of the Los Angeles architectural firm bearing his name, will accept an award Friday from the California Council of the American Institute of Architects at the Monterey Design Conference.

Given annually to a California architectural firm, the award recognizes “excellence in design of distinguished architecture for a period of at least 10 years.”

Since the Dworsky firm was founded in 1953, it has received more than 40 awards for design excellence, mostly for buildings in Southern California that exemplify the California way of life.

Leroy Miller, a Los Angeles architect who formerly worked for the firm, said, “The single quality of Dworsky’s work that was recognized immediately and attracted talented young designers to his office, was his ability to set high design standards for the most marginal building types.”
