A monthlong parking citation amnesty is set to begin March 1.
During the amnesty period, many motorists whose fines have increased because they did not pay their tickets within seven days will be given a second opportunity to pay the original $18 to $20 fines.
The amnesty will not extend to drivers whose registrations have been put on hold by the state Department of Motor Vehicles because of overdue citations.
An amnesty last year collected $11,600 in delinquent fines.
