Thai Scores Victory in First Title Defense

LONDON —
Sot Chitalada of Thailand retained his World Boxing Council flyweight title Wednesday night by stopping Britain’s Charlie Magri after four rounds.
The fight was halted with Magri bleeding from a cut near his left eyelid. His cornermen called the problem to the attention of American referee Martin Denkin, who ended the bout.
It was Chitalada’s first defense of the title he won from Mexico’s Gabriel Bernal last October.
