Anaheim police continued to investigate the discovery of 50 pounds of dynamite outside a bar, which required the evacuation of homes and businesses in the area for 4 1/2 hours Friday. The explosives were transported to the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, where they were burned. Police also are “looking into” allegations by bartender Patty Osgood and patron Mike Carbonell that officers took an hour to respond to the call at the Adriatic Inn, 735 N. Anaheim Blvd. Police found 25 sticks of dynamite in two boxes in an alley behind the bar. The explosives, which were leaking nitroglycerin, were considered “very unstable” and sufficiently dangerous for police to evacuate approximately 200 people in a one-block radius.
